well, I tend to think that being strongly drawn to anything, be it an animal, object, topography or whatever--is surely not a coincidence. Now, what it might mean in terms of our pasts, I guess is open to our own interpretation.

julia.
I have been away too long.

I've always wondered if at one time is a former life I was a whale.  And it's not just because I am now battling weight issues do I have this feeling!  I felt I could always identify with these mighty creatures of the sea and I feel such empathy for their plight. I am so drawn to the ocean although I find myself living in the middle of the U.S.!

Rcky--

Hey, I completely understand--I'm glad you are getting the ball rolling. I don't know if I would put much stock in what is most popular here though--because popularity of any one post might have nothing to do with the art and everything to do with all the other factors that influence such a thing. Hope that makes sense.

As for animals not having souls, my Dad said that to me (in writing)...I just shrugged...some people will never get it, at least not in this lifetime! LOL.

Hi Julia...here I am....finally....NEways. this is a very interesting topic

This is what I believe...I believe animals are in a different soul group as humans. I believe when they evolve they do so in a group and then become individualized. I also believe that an animal can reincarnate as humans do and some to a owner in the same life or a different life. I know my cat Powder was my cat in my Egyptian life for many reasons. There are so many variables on this subject that what I believe is not written in stone, so I am always ready to listen to other views on this. All I know for sure is that animals HAVE souls as many do not believe they do. Whew!

Now as far as my absence. I don't think I will have much time to spend on Blogit for the next few months, so I will have to practice time management. I have started the ball rolling on getting my artwork out there and that will take most of my time.  I am in the process now of deciding whether to get an agent or market my art myself.  I am putting together a website and my portfolio and that is what is now taking most of my time. I am slo looking for a printer to work with. I hope our Blogit buddies don't get upset that I post a few pieces and do not seem to read, comment on others and answer my comments in a timely manner. I need to post my art to get the feedback from all of you. Blogit is like a test market allowing me to see what pieces are more popular than others, which I value greatly.

So that's my update Julia and I'll try to be back this evening....I hope you'll be around!

Presley--

I have an issue with Blogit/Shaycom that is not being resolved to my satisfaction. So... I am unsure if I want to continue at this point.

Yes, I saw that show. I think those things must be scripted, it was just too over the top.

I saw that episode of Wife Swap that they were talking about on that website.  Did you see it?  That women was a bit excessive on the show.  Plus if I remember right, HER house was infested with fleas.  What do you mean...if you're here...

I wonder why he refered to a feline over any other animal.  I guess I'll not reincarnate into an animal, because I'm perfectly in touch and in tune with my emotions.  I wonder what I'll be next.  A Pirate?

how odd, we were commenting to each other at the same time. Such a strange feeling when that happens--I call it blogging synchonicity!!

Julia, it is very difficult for me as well to withstand negative energy from others. That negative energy is actually 'physical' it is a force directed toward or against one or in one's direction. Mere thoughts of others, not charged with emotion, not 'sent out' have little or no effect on me though I may be aware of them. I don't care what people 'think'; I am concerned about what energy they send in my direction. Write your truth. Your light will shield you. Truth always prevails. 'We' may get buffeted in the process but, Truth prevails. And Truth is the essence of you. MoonSpirit

Actually, no I don't

I think these paths are predetermined by a higher power that is chaotic in nature.  I believe that we are always aware of our spiritual persona, although we tend to ignore it. If we understood what lesson we came for, we would damage our own ability to learn freely from it.

We choose what we will learn in this life, but we cannot be certain which lesson we came for, nor how we will change from experiencing that lesson/emotion/choice.

Julia
Well, it sounds pretty logical to me! Even in physical form - when you can't quite understand something, you must deviate from the path you are currently on to learn more about it. Example: If I write a story that involves something about chemistry (of which I have no understanding), then I will temporarily put my story aside to read more about chemistry. Afterwards, I can put more depth into the story. I figure the journey a soul takes is a little like that as well.

whysper--

Thanks for a very interesting comment. I do not see you as judgemental at all. And I too try to keep an open mind and see other perspectives.

As for the thought regarding your life path--yes, it's unknown to you now from an ego standpoint--but was it not your own soul who predetermined this path? And do you not think that the spiritual you is always aware of it?

Ciel--

I do not mind long, insightful comments in the least! You're right that it did occur a decade ago, although I wonder how much I have really learned since then. Maybe I am judging my own experience too harshly?

Anyhoo, I did learn something, I learned that I want to look up that book!

Julia

I hope you don't take my resonses as negative in nature, I try to avoid labels when it comes to opinions, I just try to learn something whenever I find an opinion different from my own.

I agree that we are not far apart, and I also agree that perception and understanding of emotions is a very large part of our conceptual journey.  I really only dodge from agreement whenever things are placed in a linear manner.  That is a concept that is quite confining and part of this particular existance and not necessary to understanding our journeys.

IMHO, Chaos is the source of all creation and therefore the source of our path between inception and self awareness.  I cannot choose which lessons I will learn in a lifetime, they are predetermined and unknown to me.

Julia, the negative feedback is like those barking dogs,

whatever level it reaches you.  There will always be those threatened by the advent of knowledge or awareness they are not ready for, as there will be the established flow that makes turmoil at the change of the tide.

I think what Samuel is saying here is that while some of the path is linear, or sequential, the process of evolvement, as my teachers termed it, or the soulic journey, is not itself linear or sequential in the manner of chutes and ladders, one leading to the next and a matter of ups and downs.

Time/space simply does not work for spirit in the way that it does in the physical plane.

This journey of the soul is a spirit thing, not a body thing so much, so it is not bound to or limited by time/space as the lifetime of a body is; therefore, it seems to me, to comprehend the possibility of reincarnation as best we can, as we are, we have to look at it from a soul's perspective.

Jane Roberts, in THE EDUCATION OF OVERSOUL SEVEN presents this perspective in the form of a novel, that I found really helped loosen up my thinking from the body perspective.

I do, by the way, realize that this conversation with Samuel took place in time a while ago, and in the usual linear human way, you have added much to your own understanding and awareness since then-- I am rambling on, enjoying the sound of my own voice (in a manner of speaking) more than thinking I am telling you anything you don't already know!

And keep in mind,  it doesn't have to be written down or spoken aloud to be felt (at least by one such as myself, who is highly sensitive to the energy of others).
