from little acorns big oaks grow

so it is with everything

to attempt to fathom the complexity of things is impossible

there are certain definite patterns to things in the Universe

how  they got there?

aye that's the mystery

but to ascribe this to one male anthropomorphic entity that sat down at a drawing board and designed all this from the minutest to the magnutest . . . ???

you'd expect this to be perfect then.

but imperfections abound

perosnally, I simply accept that all exists and so do I.

I am very happy about all this.

It shatters my brain trying to think about much else.

Talion - the basis of my agnosticism (again as opposed to atheism) is a

little different.

I have never been able to reconcile the notion of a conscious entity of any sort. An omnipotent, all knowing creator being that only utilizes one way communication in revelation doesn't quite cut it for me. I observe the same inexplicable things in nature as anyone else but I just can't buy that everything was created via supernatural powers by the design of one being. I feel that the observations of our primitive predecessors, where all of these notions have come from, acts as an impediment to true, unbiased discovery. I only refer to myself as an agnostic in an attempt to keep an open mind and where I completely discard the traditional definition of God as a supreme, omnipotent and conscious being, there are many other possibilities pertaining to a unifying life force or energy . . . I feel however that a paternal omnipotent being with magical powers is not one of those possibilities.

In our narrow human perspective, the concept of intelligent design is feasible because we can't imagine the complexity of nature, from a single cell up, as just "happening." The idea that some cosmic string-puller could be somewhere out there is the basis of my agnosticism (as opposed to atheism). Attempts to define this would-be designer is where everything gets screwed up. It seems "beats me" isn't a good enough answer for many who question the universe and the way things are. They need to know everything right now so they fill in the blanks. Wishful thinking suddenly becomes "truth."
