I'm sorry you lost Fluff. I can relate to your saying that you had 1 more time to feed (or enjoy) his presence.

Malcolm...Awful sorry about your Lil Fluff Friend...Life can be heart
breaking at times like this. I hope that the kids are okay. That is a long time for a guinea pig to live. A long time to have Fluff makes it harder to say goodbye ((((Fluff))))

Thank you everyone
for your very kind comments. I explained what had happened to the children before we left the car. Fluff's cage door was slightly open and the moonlight shone into his little bedroom, as though there was still light and no darkness. In a very strange way I think this helped the children through it, though we all had a good cry when we got into the house.

My sympathies to you and your family. Pets can evoke such strong emotions. Ours are cherished family members.

Malcolm--
that brought a tear to my eye. I'm so sorry about Fluff's passing, he sounds like he was a great companion for you and your family. I'm sure he would like for you to visit him at his grave and chat. And he knows how much you loved him.

For some reason you have me singing
Puff the Magic Dragon. I guess because Puff rhymes with Fluff. When pets die its tough. That's a good message you gave to the children.

As a South African
I can almost guarentee that the trainer has a hangover. We love our sport and with the Super Bowl last night I am sure he got pretty hammered with his mates. Is our "hey" really so obvious? - LOL

Sorry to hear about the Guinee Pig. Our kids have learnt very fast regarding life and death as this is an every day occurance on the farm.

Oh I feel so sorry. I can understand. Last year our litttle Fluffy of six years died, horribly shivering and then straightening out. We buried him in the garden and it took me days to realize that is no more. We have a beautiful growth in the garden and the flowers are his other life in transmutation. Who says there is no rebirth?

I really feel for you. Shoot, I am thirty two years old and I refuse to become attached to a pet because of how hard it is when they move on. (I say "refuse" but I am growing quite fond of our house cat and I am quite sure that I will need some alone time when her day comes).
Hope your day goes good...
