Passionflower-perhaps you are right--or--on the other hand it could be
we have personally experienced it? Thanks for your comment.Chris.

I was once this way too...
Maybe I am still in some ways...very suspicious of any man who is nice to me. do you think we just see too much lying, cheating, flakiness in the world? It's hard not to be jaded.

Hallo R.I.--It seemed peacefull--but it seemed to be 'making comparisons?'-
The only 'scarey' thing about it was that I have over all these years, made so many bad choices-well-not choices really-just positions/lives I seemed to step into.Shadow left me feeling a bit 'wimsickle'? but-I would not change the past in those terms-because of my lovely sons.Chris.Thank you for your comment-made me think a bit more.

Chris, I guess sometimes shadows can be scary and sometimes
peaceful presences..did you sense a bit of both in this one?? it was like a visitation by the sounds of it....

Kat--thank you very much-as usual you have 'diciphered' it all.
Hope I've said that right-I mean-you know me so well! Chris.

Thank you for your comment-food4thought.It's 'fleeting'--
there was absolutely no need for 'forging him'.(possibly to forgive myself for letting him down for the wrong reason?)Chris.

It is such a shame you could not tell the difference because you had been treated so badly before, But this was simply a beautiful and warm poem , Thank you for sharing this with us

Memory...
Is it fleeting or forgiving?  I like the mood you set.
