As I am reading your powerful reminders of a conquered evil, I see another one rising, in some ways more insidious and dangerous, because it lays claim to being sanctioned by God...

What a wonderfully apt desciption of Nazi Germany!

It was indeed a flight from reason, but we fought that evil and won over it. The British ( then General ) Montgomery, in his History of Warfare, writes that " The true soldier is the enemy only of the beast in man."

UNfortunately our divisions yet remain, widened even more by our disgraceful media, and we are now in a new Age of Unreason ; as witness, on a microcosmic scale, the virulent feuds in here.

We never learn that he who knows not his history is doomed to re-enact it, do we?

Ha ha!!!

I'l post some more serials later, these about love and loss and romance ; all that kinda stuff. Bit of light relief, eh?

One of 'em will be a six part love story set in WWI, but with only passing references to the war. And lots an lots of dialogue!!!

ariel70 you know I race to see if you've posted another episode

each day.(Here in Sydney it is actually morning. 7.30 am to be exact when I read todays episode!!!)

This is powerful stuff, well written and almost too graphic. The word pictures take me to a time and place I don't enjoy visiting nor enjoy being amongst, which is where you put me. Of course most of this I know but we musn't forget and all praise to you for having the intestinal fortitude to remind us...and do it so well.

You know damn well I wouldn't be here if I could keep away, I mean your the guy who calls me happy clappy etc!!!!

ps Don't add dialogue except where absolutely necessary you will interfere needlessly with the picture in the mind. This needs to be uncluttered.

"The rational mind of man is a shallow thing, a shore upon a continent of the irrational, wherein thin colonies of reason have settled amid a savage world."
Wilford O. Cross

It seems that all rationality, all reason and every semblance of conscience totally abandoned the world at that time, and at all times dwells on a slippery slope.

Thank you for your comment and critique.

I did feel that any dialogue, apart from the part where Zivia and Avram had their meeting earlier on, would detract from the power of the narrative.

For, really, what form could this take but Nazi bellowing, Jews screams and cries etc? I feel any dialogue at this point in the story would be a distraction from the sheer horror unfolding before the readers' eyes.

But, that said, thank you very much for your interest in my work. And as we haven't 'met' before ; welcome to Blogit.

I'll drop in and see what you're up to in there soonLOL

Good work.

suppurating... nice vocab word, had to look it up: "to form or discharge pus."  Nice.  You write very well, good description, good prose in general.  If I had to level a criticism, I'd say it needs a little dialogue.  Too much description, not broken up by dialogue, can get boring.  I give you four stars (out of 5).
