The Monster and I have made habit for the past year to go out to the movies once a week.  Sometimes, to tell you the truth, I don't want to go. . , and I know he doesn't really want to go either.  HOWEVER, the simple little addition to our week has added ALOT to our relationship.

I would recommend since you haven't taken your wife to a movie in quite some time. . , that you take her to a "chick flick" if possible.  "In the Pursuit" will probably be totally depressing.

Then they wouldn't have made a movie about it. =)

I like the idea of going out with your wife on a date, but the inspirational aspects of The Pursuit of Happyness sort of bother me - as if people who really are working to the best of their abilities aren't trying hard enough or something. What if the requisite happy ending - which I understand happened to the real-life inspiration for the main character - hadn't happened, and he'd actually remained homeless? (Yes, I admit it, I'm a party pooper.)

TV, that's kind of what I was thinking.
It's supposed to be a good movie and right up my alley.

Talion, my wife and I get together each week but it's different
with a two year wanting attention from both his parents at the same time.  He doesn't see us together much and he loves it when we are.

Solo, I think it will be good.
I hate getting done with a movie and wanting to know how I can get a refund on the tme I just wasted.

A very good idea of taking your wife out on a date .

I have not seen it
However, friends have.  They say it is very inspirational and considering your goals, I think it would be an ideal movie for you and your wife to see.  Enjoy!  (If it's sold out, you could always see Pan's Labyrinth.  I have seen that and it was wonderful if not a little gory.

Queen V and I go out every Friday night if possible, at least to dinner. Our "date night" is important enough that we try not to let anything interfere with it. Of course, we don't have kids so that makes it a lot easier.

I haven't seen that movie. Something like that is what video rentals is for. On the big screen, give me shootouts and fistfights and explosions as opposed to the warm fuzzy dramas any day.

A date with your wife sounds like a really great idea.  I hope the movie is a winner.
