I really enjoyed reading Shinga's story. But, I kept thinking. . , it sure would be a b@tch to discovered on the day she gave birth to her offspring that one popped out and it was a snake. LOL
"Look, Shinga! A lovely baby boy! Yes, he does have 10 fingers and 10 toes. Oh, and look what else popped out, Shinga. It appears you have had twins. A lovely, wriggling snake. Yes, it does appear to have all of its scale, Shinga!"
*grin* Fascinating read, Naut.

Thanks, Muser
I'm fine, the thumb is getting better, and although it will never be restored to its former beauty, I think I'll soon be doing battle on the squash court again...

Nautikos, it is said that every cloud has a silver lining... Your accident
has brought you into contact with some interesting people. How are you feeling now? How is your thumb; the prognosis?

Wiley,
yes, they are interesting. I must confess that I know far less than I should know about our First Nations...

nautikos,
An Indian friend of mine told me that Nag is short for Nagin in Hindi meaning 'snake'. According to the hindus, Nagin is sacred.

Wondeful story/legeng/belief - but more charming was the manner in which she told it.
