Be kind anyway...is that why we are called humankind?
Mankind and womankind together can rebuild with soul and mind, and remove all that's unkind. Take care sweetie

Great series; I noticed Mary loves these newest offerings as many others do. Neil

Hello Cee! The first thought which entered by mind when I
read this entry is a comment made by our pastor this morning in relation to today's Gospel. What are people afraid of goodness, afraid of good people? There is a deep connnection between this and your entry. I learned after my books were published people truly are afraid! Blessings

Troosha-
I think you have hit on our malady; we ARE self-absorbed. It may be a little different here in the Midwest, in that acts of kindness aren't met with the suspicion they are on the coasts. My sisters, one in Boston and one in LA, couldn't believe it when a package of candy they'd bought and walked out and left in the store, was still there when I went by to check on it a few days later. They had kept it aside, knowing that we'd be back for it! Their response was, "Unbelievable. Only in Kansas would you be able to do that." I was sure it would be there, and they were equally sure it wouldn't be. I always fall back on the number of mice in a confined space. You get too crowded and they turn on each other, eat their own babies, aberrations like that. Yes, it is sad when it comes down to it.

I fully agree. Is the aesop as in aesop's fables?

It’s strange how that happens. You extend a hand of kindness to someone and you can sense they are thinking “what’s in it for you?” Maybe we’ve become such a numb, self absorbed society that kindness is met with surprise. It’s a shame, isn’t it?
