ariel70 - they teach that stuff at secret atheist schools
Hey why not? ....the mythical characterizations of those who do not believe that a conscious and omnipotent creator being exists, has all of the trappings of a manufactured conspiracy. I can't get over how people so willingly buy into this myth and proliferate it, despite overwhelming evidence that it being false is demonstrated for them continuously.

Yes! By Gad, Sir, they're a damned cunning lot, these atheists! Hide themselves in the most unlikely places.
Why, only the other morning, Lady Ariela went to empty the teapot into the pedal bin, and .....

ariel70 - the next fundamentalist atheist I meet - will be the first
I haven't even met any of the stereotypical evil detriment to society atheists yet. ...but they must be out there somewhere, considering that so many people speak of their existence with such certainty.....maybe I'm just lucky. All of the atheists and agnostics that I have met in my life seem to be decent people with a few exceptions, those few exceptions I chalk up to the old adage; "there is one in every crowd."

Funny how one so very rarely meets a fundamentalist atheist, isn't it?
Maybe they're some sort of secret Brotherhood and Sisterhood, who recognise each other by an an arcane language ; a secret handshake ; weird body language, and mysterious ( and revolting ) eye motions.
I met just such a guy the other day ; he evinced all these ( and more!) manifestations, but when we parted, and I looked down at the piece of crumpled paper in my hand, it read ...
" Repent Sinner! The End Is Nigh! "
And there I was, thinkin' I'd solved the mystery!

Talion - the part I find the funniest you state in your comment
"It's funny how so many strangers know so much about me."
We've even seen some of that here on Blogit. I've had some delerious folks attempt to fill in all of the blanks pertaining to my character, which is something we just cannot know with any degree of certainty about online aquaintances. One not so discreet comment in reference to me: "...he goes on about helping people with their web sites while pretending to be an person of genuine character."
Seriously, but where it became increasingly funny was in; aside from the individual making such a statement about me with nothing to back the implication of my not being a person of "genuine character" .....they lied about ever saying such a thing.

First as a black man, I have to deal with numerous misconceptions and preconcieved notions about what type of person I am. Rarely, if ever, are these ideas positive. No, it doesn't happen all the time, but it can happen anytime. People assume the worse and then place the responsibility of proving them wrong on me. Secondly, as an agnostic, I have the same situation repeated. It's funny how so many strangers know so much about me. No, it's not funny. Actually, it's quite sad.
