I think they should visit other "virtual communities" and learn how these communities manage to do things like this.

Joe--
I remember reading that once upon a time--it's a little ambiguous don't you think. "may" or may not, lol. I haven't seen any bonuses but I'd like to. How would they (or we) determine these three winners??

it might retain a few, I doubt it would draw any. As a matter of fact, this whole business of 'drawing' people, i.e. newcomers into the Blogit fold is a bit of a mystery to me. I don't think it's well advertised.

I know we have new writers showing up all the time, but how did they get here? I know how I arrived at Blogit - purely by accident, when I was tiredly and idly clicking through some stuff...

I think it's a great idea..and you're right it might encourage more writing and thus enhance the place with more people..

i don't know about all that but seeing as how you're delving into the whys
and wherefors, perhaps you can answer this for me.  there are bloggers that are no longer here but their accounts are still accessible.  if i click on a blog, i'm awarding that blog with .016blahblahblah.  if i know for a fact the blogger is no longer with us, why is the account still there and is blogit making this money themselves?

Define "content." Poetry? Pictures? Prose? Fiction? Journaling day to day events in a witty way? What if someone combines types of blogs? Who is to judge - doesn't it depend upon their opinion. It cannot be the bloggers since we have already seen how that pans out...

Its always fun to be awarded money.   Somehow money says what words alone do not.  Would it draw four more memberships?   I wish I could remember what brought me to Blogit in the first place, but its been way too long.   For anyone trying to make the decision of whether or not to join, it just might be the bit that pushes one over the edge.

I would like this idea alot if it could be implemented in such a way that bloggers could vote for who gets the bonus.  One vote only per blogger account throughout the course of a designated time period - NOT votes tallied based on Shaycom's current rating system of popularity tally by number of reads.  I think the issuing of such a bonus might encourage bloggers who don't post consistently to start posting more consistently.  It might also encourage individuals who write in on ly one category to branch out into more categories.  What would it do for membership here?  I'm still dwelling on that thought!
