TAPS-
OH, you are way too kind!!  Actually, I am lucky they still study ones like me.  By the time you get to my stage, you're usually not up and around.  The post-surgery results studies are what I mainly participate in.  They have done some cell implants at KU experimentally (to the brain) and have had results similar to the surgical successes. However, those are permanent whereas mine is just a fix for a while.

I've told them I'm ready to be one of their DBS/StemCell guinea pigs, but so far no banana for people who have been helped with electrodes.  Since we've had the DBS, it makes for a whole different set of variables they're not wanting to factor in.  So hopefully there will be enough other human lab rats to pave the way for when I  may qualify for a permanent change and not just a quick fix.  There's always hope and as Superman said, that means there's something!

Thanks for your support, Taps!

You must make a wonderful "specimen" for them:  pleasant, cooperative, interested in what's going on, knowledgable, good to look at, wonderful sense of humor, etc.  I'll just bet that they fight over who gets to work with you.

Thanks for you visit and continued support.  I had my daughter snap some shots.I might publish a few if any turned out!  It went faster today!  Five times I had to stand still and stare at a blue dot for a minute apiece. OF course, I'm hooked up to all these wires and little cameras.  Hopefully it will lesson the burden for future people with Parkinson's.  I have had nothing less than a miracle because of my brain surgery.  Most of the time, I can keep the ol' man Parky under MY control!
