It is amazing, but at the root of it, I suspect, is the selfishness
... of those who can afford better education, as you say. The powerful ones don't care. The only way something like this could perhaps be improved is if it became a powerful grass-roots movement with enough lobbying power to effect real change. Of course, this change would be reversed within a relatively short time if the people then took their eye off the ball...

What gets me, Tony...
Is that after all this, the NEA still has credibility. How can this be? If an outside enemy had somehow done this to our children, we would be at war. It tells you a bit about the power of the media.
