who knows what would happen.
I gave up trying to figure out this place a long time ago. You have a lot of interesting ideas, but I would be genuinely surprised if Blogit ever made any of them become a reality.

Oh and btw, it's gozoof not gazoof. not that it matters but I noticed you called it that the other day too. ;-)

I think that's an awesome idea
but as someone (I believe it was Talion) pointed out, it would probably just turn into another popularity contest.  It would be neat, though.

Hey, you have some cool "blog thingies"
That's as technical as I am willing to get now!  It's deliberate.

Me again
Heh! After leaving my comment I sleuthed around a bit and was able to find such things as rating, Blogs with Most Comments, etc. I’m not sure this information is invaluable but I felt like I had finally joined the club.

Joe
I’m obviously a “dolt” when it comes to the features available within Blogit – or perhaps you have to be Golden to access such things as Top Blog and Most Popular Blogs (but then again maybe you were suggesting this should be an available feature). I’m sure I’m missing out on some interesting information. For example, do I have to Golden to view list of active blogs and their ratings? Ignorance in itself, however, can sometimes be Golden

This is an excellent idea, but I don't think it would work here. The star system is easily recognizable from movie reviews, but in this case, too vague. Such things will always be highly subjective, but some sort of criteria should be established to determine what makes a post a one or a five. While it's often not necessary to explain why a post is five-star, one needs to provide a thorough explanation why a post is a one. Without such details, a bad rating is simply an insult, a cute little graphic screaming YOU SUCK! And we all know what happens around here when someone feels they've been insulted. With this in mind, I doubt many would give "bad" ratings. Also, individuals would too often rate the bloggers, not a specific post, they like high, those they don't low, thus rendering useless whatever benefit the rating system provided. It would end up just a different version of Most Popular, saying a lot, but not really saying anything.

Oh, but Lady......
You'd get a good rating from me!  I love your storytelling style!

i wouldn't want anyone to rate me

Joe Love....
What an excellent proposal.....as long as the rating was limited to say....one per blogger...per post.  After all why would you need to repeatedly rate something you have already read.....that would prevent it from being a popularity game.

This is all interesting Joe....why don't you present it to Shaycom.

Unfortunately those who have presented suggestions to Shaycom never received a response other than "we'll take it into consideration." I think I am one of the few that does not care about my rankings.  I mean it is nice to see my name in the top ten but when I don't post and it drops...well that's okay too! LOL BTW, I like the look of your blog!  BTW2.....thanks for all the visits to my blog!

Lover
IMHO I would love to implement the star system into my blog.  I just wonder how many people would actually have the courage to star me honestly.  Plus, it would give a truer idea of who is being read the most and why!  It would be interesting to comapare the tally of a star list compared to how the # of click tallies determine rankings here.
