Xeno - you missed the boat on this one. Merle had popular hits pandering

to the masses but perhaps you haven't heard I'll Be A Hero When I Strike (pro labor) or Erma Jackson (pro interracial marriage).  These two songs by the Hag are usually overlooked by those who sterotype country music (and NASCAR, and the South, etc etc...).

Hell, everybody's against this fuckin' war.

are you trying to pult words in my mouth Corbin?

quite a few singers -- ones that you wouldn't expect -- are expressing this sentiment.

don't try to stereotype me corbin -- i grew up with country -- knew people that you probably never encountered -- very interesting people (check my about me page)

my point is that those who sing and are fans of country are usually of a conservative bent and supportive of military endeavors.

When this group of people oppose Geo. W. Bush, then you have to admit that the president is in trouble.

His currency is at an all time low value.

What other ones??? The Dixie Chicks?
There is a bit of intolerance in you comments about the country music "segment".  Are they hicks, dumb, stupid, shoeless boobs to you?

so what about the other country music singers
usually this segment of the population is the most supportive of the President and the Military.

Xeno...This is misleading, too.
Merle Haggard, a populist, has always been skeptical of the war.....this is not a sudden change of heart as you imply.......
