I often refer to those you're referring to as "penguins" because of their suits and knack for following one another almost in unison when walking down hallways and stuff. *grin*

Yes, it can get very boring having to listen to social climbers compete with their drivel.

"The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig..."
"The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which." -George Orwell, Animal Farm Yup, that describes meetings very aptly.

yes, love the Animal Farm analogy. (such a great book - i should read
that again.) don't know what's with the pigs and sheep theme, hungry for a meal of meat, perhaps?

I remember those “Monday morning meeting” all to well. Normally comprised of a good many ladder climbing women, the discussions often revolved around their romantic escapades of the weekend. Do I want these people knowing anything about my private life? I think not. I always found it strange….

Thanks. I loved George Orwell's writings but not when this impromptu theatre group try and re-enact the key scenes!!

The Animal Farm analogy would be suitable for most of the meetings you described so well.....
