Lol Justi, that would be strange, I think..
Perfect harmony in a family of any size..I have 1 younger brother and a half sister somewhere. I am close to my brother, but when we were kids, I was mean to him..until he grew bigger than me.
Anyway, I was referring to civil wars - They seem to be part of almost every nation's history, ours included. As is the killing between people of the same or at least similar religions. As far as Iraq, it is so very tragic and meaningless what they are doing to each other, but I believe our presence is not helping and probably is inflaming the tension. Our troops are trapped in a slaughter fest.
Why are they doing this..why are we there? Gets down to base (permanent military bases, world's largest embassy) reasons - oil and oil contracts...my perspective.

If you have not seen these. You can't make judgments of the right and wrong of what I say about Islam.

By doing our job....
the one God gave us in the very beginning....to be their parents...instead of abrogating our responsibilities and looking for the schools, TV, and computers to be our surrogates.

It would be a pitying situation except for the fact we want to raise our children and grand children in this country as a free country. So they need to be persuaded but how in God's Name do we do that?

I could not live in a country where I wanted it to lose a war. Could you?

You must have come from a big loving family. I wish I had. I don't have brothers or sisters but I always loved the concept of such. Where all of them loved the others and fought for them if necessary and even when unnecessary.

War of any type is a heartbreaking oddity of the human spirit, imo
Civil War especially hard to comprehend - brother killing brother, it happened here, not so long ago. In
WW1, late December, French, German and Scottish troops called for a temporary lull in fighting, so they could know a few hours of peace on Christmas - they were all Christians, after all.
