Part of the problem, Nautikos...

Is that we don't really know if the story is factual. It rings true, and now there is corroborating evidence, but it's all still speculative. I have to believe that the site has been investigated, and if so, then we may know more than we are letting on...but I can't then understand why we are not telling the world.

Bottom line, it's still an open question.

certainly interesting! Just in the light of this alone (if it's factual),

"Before and after satellite photos clearly show the open and then blocked entrance to the cavern, and sophisticated analysis techniques even establish the extent of the buried facilities. Because of careful concealment efforts nothing was even detected from orbit except an apparently routine, large-scale irrigation project. Information supplied three years later by a defector who was a participant on the project shed the first light on Iraq's new capabilities." (From your narrative),

it would seem to me this should be followed up. We know exactly where to look:  why don't we?
