My pet hate...
is untitled pieces of work. Poems and stories should have a title, it's an impoortant part of the package. A lack of title in a blog post is completely forgivable, of course.

That was pretty funny, all those women in high heels and skirts atop the castle ruins with the wind lashing around their ankles and knees! Did you buy your picture? We did. They sent it to our house, and we got a picture of some old guy's nostrils! After a phone call, they finally got it right, and a picture of my own nostrils now graces our vacation album!

Aha! I've finally tumbled to you!

You're the one who sneaks around sowing all them bean seeds about the place, aren't you? That extra jumbo, giant hybrid beanstalk

Them giants are a pretty mean lot, and those great clumping boots of theirs play hell with one's garden! To say nothing of all goats, the pets and kids that go missing.

why, only today, Lady Ariela found a bloodstained child's bootee under the one in our garden.

Many years ago I hung upside down and backwards with someone
holding onto my feet. I kissed the stone till my lips were raw. Much good it did me!!!!! Perhaps I was too busy being thankfull I wasn't wearing a skirt!

Very cute post. . . , and title.
And, I think you're right about the book/title combination being more important that the first sentence with novels.

Hmmm ... pity it didn't teach you how to spell in them, too! LOLOLOL ( That's maniacal laughter, see ?)

And too right ; I just don't want to even think about it. UGGGHHH!

That's heavy-duty disgust, see? Well, industrial-strength disgust, see?

Questions! Questions!

I kissed the actual (?) Blarney Stone about 4 years ago, an' a crock o' Blarney it was indeed! The castle itself was breathtaking, though! (-pinngggg-)

Ah shoor now, wasn't it meself as was brought up on a diet of Flan O'Brien, JM Synge and Yeats?

Did yez ever read "The Playboy of the Western World"?

Isn't that the most musical powerful slab of language yez ever read?

An wasn't it meself as well, altho' there's only one of me, that was after goin' ter see Brendan Behan's " The Quare Fella" back in the 1950s?

The Quare Fella is the Irish slang name for the hangman, see?

Yeah, I know. Some titles are just magical and virtually command to be written upon/about!

Gods, man, I wish I could write with an Irish accent like that!! I don't always know what you're saying, but I love it!

Reminds me, I've got to see if I can find a DVD version of Darby O'Gill and the Little People for the kids. They probably won't like it like I did, but a mamma's gotta try!
