Sally

I am here! I spent a lot of yesterday typing up a newsletter for my Woman's Club.  After which I made a fire in the Ben Franklin Stove and enjoyed doing just about nothing.

Off and running today however, and it is a much warmer day.  AM temp was 34 Degrees, yesterday it was 24 degrees, so I may get outside today and shop.  HAPPY DAYS.

The years between the TV Happy Days and now have really changed the way we live.  It is wonderful to remember our experiences. Thanks for sharing your story about your Ithaca days.

Rumored Intellegence

A summer cottage must have been wonderful fun.  Horse drawn wagons surely must have been a great interest to youngsters and oldsters alike. Thanks for sharing.

In the 60's, when I was a child, milk delivery was common
Even in the late 80's in Ithaca, NY, I could order milk delivery through Byrne Dairy, specifiying homogenized or not.  The milk came in glass bottles with small paper lids and  the bottles were placed in wire carriers, which I still have, or metal boxes, which was what my folks had.

The Iceman, however, only cameth in plays.

Lou, I can remember as a kid having an ice box in our summer
cottage, and an outhouse..... the ice man would visit daily with blocks of ice..and the milkman's wagon was horse drawn, as was the breadman's..now I was just a kid about 5 or 6 yrs old, but how do you forget things like this?..you don't, and I never want to forget, either.

There's an ice box in the foyer at my parents' house.

It's really cool looking, one of those old antique things.  We just use it for storage.  When I was younger, it held our scarves, gloves, and winter hats and some VHS tapes.
