idiot.  Cheney is a behind-the-scenes genius.  Bush is a frontman.  Cheney just makes it look as though Bush is the power.

I never have understood the strange sway Cheney holds over Bush

Trumps his father's influence by leaps and bounds. There are a few seemingly crazed conspiracy theories as to why..makes a person wonder though.

Seems like Cheney was GW's campaign manager before he was
named president. He directed the publicity, scheduled the public appearances, set the agenda, scripted the speeches. Has any of this changed since the 2000 election?

What is more interesting, my friend, is that John Dean is an old-school
conservative who believes that those calling themselves conservatives today are anything but conservative.  More like authoritarian extremists using conservatism as a guise, basically usurping the Republican Party.
