Sannhet, I've been mostly self-employed and mostly without employees. I've struggled for my whole life with the proper balance between 'spirituality' and 'work' - it's just not easy - Jesus said: 'be as wise as a serpent and as gentle as a dove' - meaning according to my understanding: 'understand the ways of the world and do what is necessary to survive in the world and to take care of the business of the world but, keep your heart free of negative and destructive thoughts and emotions' (or something like that). I'm sure exactly how to apply all of that. MoonSpirit

There isn't a nice thing about it, but people do move on and survive, and most eventually do find it was a door opening for them.
I quit management myself however, because I did have to fire some people, and I knew I could not make it my way of life so I went to work for and by myself.
You're maybe too nice aguy to do that kind of work my friend.

Sannhett-
I think that if you apply the Walsch (CWG) 'Love don't fear.' or ask What would Love do now? can bring compassion to just about any situation. It sounds like you had a tense couple of weeks -- so sorry. I'm sure they were fortunate to have been fired by someone as nice as you!

Wow, I'm so sorry you had to deal with this. I've only been fired once (I'll have to blog about that some time) and it wasn't handled well. You'd think upper management would remember what it was like in the lower positions, but they never seem to. I'm sure you handled it the best way you could. And BTW, I think athiests are spiritual too, they just use different terminology.
