Joe Love......
Neither do I.....but the point was that even the UN, which has been one of the leading centers of negativity about events in Iraq.......has found it necessary to Award something going on there. That being the case......it only leads one to believe that there must be a hell of a lot more positive things that they have chosen to ignore.
To me, we should kick them out of New York and allow Donald Trump to turn the UN Building into a posh hotel........Move them to Europe so it can be with all of the "Oscar Mayers" over there..........

Corbin. . , it's nice to see you acknowledge the importance of awards
issued by the United Nations. Frankly, I don't give the UN credence for anything.

Wowie, I never realized all of that you posted here my friend. By damn you ought to start your own newspaper just about Iraq and the positives about it now. Heck, I'd even help and come run the press hoss. Great blog.

Corbin,
As usual, an excellent post. How in Heaven's name do we get a
balanced picture from the dreadfully biased media? Including, of course, our Canadian ones?

Yes I know you are right. Send a copy of this to Ms. Barba Boxer. You may want to add a pair or silk tiger print men's boxer shorts....her growl is begining to sound more like a bark.

now we both know that this kind of stuff does not get reported in main stream media as it would ruin their agenda!

What a contrast between the violence of Baghdad and the progress of which you speak. Thank you for sharing.

Corbin_Dallas,
There is a bit of contradiction in your illusion of prosperity vs. the reality of life in Iraq! If there were so much positive activity in Iraq??? Why more troops? You tell us where are these great things are happening in Iraq! There is no freedom of movement! No one can travel unescorted! Get America out now! Why are we being double taxed to support these crooks!

I wonder how this can be and people dont know or realize it?
It's very troubling to think we're sending even more troops over there now. Wonder why at least a few of the media don't tell us these positive aspects of life over there?

I tend to think NOTHING good is ever reported by the media anymore. Especially anything to do with Iraq...thank God we have the brains to identify the mainstream media for what they are...

Corbin.. thank you for bringing out some positive aspects
in all the negative we are told about Iraq. I get so very dismayed and confused by all the media tells us.

Sounds like there is a great deal of renewal, growth, and hope within Iraq. We don't hear or read
those stories though, do we?
