Exactly right.
If you're here to make money, you won't. Do it because you want to talk to folks, or want to write, but it's not going to make you famous, or wealthy. On the other hand, you're going to be getting some interesting feedback, make good friends, and get your ego stroked a bit. Think of it as therapy. Great little post, and some vital points.

Stong post.  You're exactly right - "life" (or whatever!) here on the BN mirrors life in the "real world;" and it particularly mirrors the entertainment industry.  "The Hours" was one of the best books written in the last decade, yet how many people read it v. saw the movie?   AND, further, how many people instead saw "Pirates of the Caribbean" over "The Hours"?  "Pirates" was dang good fun, but which was up for the an Oscar?
