Uh-oh. Watch out for the poker, Malcolm.
Professional = has a lot of money to lose.

i went to a private high school and always loved the first day when
everyone showed up. it was an adventure to find out, what room were you in? did you get a single or a double with a roommate? singles were usually reserved for the juniors and seniors. returning students going into their sophomore year were often lucky enough to be paired with a returning friend from the year before.
i loved school.

Maybe they could play the poker game in such a way to see who has to use the vacuum and clean the room. LOL

Ivan’s roommate probably doesn’t “bring a vacuum” – his parents probably send him off with one. Time will tell whether or not he uses it….

For the other boy, sometimes it is a case of, like father, like son. Ivan must be having good hobbies and too busy to pick up poker.

A professional poker player? Interesting!
Boarding school must be akin to being at university and/or being in the working world - there are so many diverse characters and not everyone can stick it out. My 2 cousins put theirs sons in boarding during the first term of high school and they couldn't stick it out. They had all sorts of complaints as to why it wasn't working for them, but I suspect it was the regimentation and discipline that they couldn't cope with.

I think that in learning about poker and domestic chores
one can learn about life. My son aged 12 is fascinated by poker at the moment. Sometimes I wished he boarded ;-) Is that a terrible thing to admit?
