Actually, attractiveness has very little to do with body type and more to do with personality.  Men have a very bad habit of losing their personality after the newness rubs off.  Honestly, they could try a little, rather than BE the wind.

Hi Symphony.....I absolutely disagree with your friend....beautiful women

come in all shapes and sizes and many men prefer curvy women.

I had this cartoon on my refrigerator for years...I love it!

Ewe's not fat, ewe's just fluffy!

I find our big, cushy pawn shop guy rather appealing.  Haha!  Not really.  I'm married.  But I was usually thin all my life, and I had more energy before the babies.   Situps every day I get the chance.  100 of them.

She made her point, and that's all she wanted to hear about and discuss.

I agree she is clueless
but I am not sure that I would continue to hang out with someone who tries to make you feel bad about yourself.

i have always been thin and have also made that statement
i usually say I feel fat - like bloated or something.  but i have met some great men on the arms of bigger women and they never asked me out.  everyone woman wants to be a "certain" size and no one can convince her otherwise.  i have also been told by men that i needed to gain weight.  i am not stick skinny but have always had a great metabolism.  i stopped saying that years ago because a woman in my office got offended.  but judging from your pictures you look like alot of fun - and to me that is everything!!!!!

She sounds pretty clueless,
so you probably have to forgive her.

I've lost about 70 lbs
... is that about 5 stone?  Not sure but I think 1 stone is 14 lbs.  Anyway, I still would like to lose another 40 lbs. for all the reasons you listed.  However, I have found myself saying things to friends larger than I am, "Oh, I'm getting so fat."  I remember how that felt and now I'm doing it myself.  Any amount of weight that is over the optimum feels lousy to the carrier of that weight.  In my case, though I can't speak for your friend, my complaints have no judgement on my friend's weight at all.  I'm not even thinking of it.

As for not listening... we always see an issue from our point of view.  She heard you would be happier thinner and ignored the fact that what you said had nothing to do with appearance but instead focused on health and comfort... a much better focus and reason for losing weight.  Good luck and keep at it.  It is possible!

She has got it all wrong and she wont listen to a damn thing I say.OFFBEATS
I don't want to be stick thin...I want my curves, I only want to lose a little bit of weight (well, actually tone up) that's all.

You're exactly right when it comes to sizes..My sons would not give a thin girl two looks..They want them bigger and what your friend is saying is crap!

Symphony, I can only say that I have known both big and thin.
Of these women the only ones ever coming close to me and my heart were the one's putting the family first and appearances second. It's not the weight, It's the W-O-M-A-N.

Maybe she's not intentionally trying to hurt anyone's feelings, but her ideas are certainly mean spirited and not to mention shallow. She doesn't seem to realize there's so much more to life than the way we look.
