Especially tasks like cleaning up the house!!  Always dread a good cleaning at first, but once the stereo is playing, it actually is quite therapeutic.

I hate thinking about starting a new job of any kind.  I put it off as long as I can.  When I do get into it, its envigorating and not nearly as bad as I had envisioned.  How great to experience a job well done when it is complete.

You're right. It's the thought of starting that's worse than the reality.

Clearing away things around the home adds new vitality to the surroundings. We have been doing this for the past week or two.

Have a great weekend yourself, my friend.

Malcolm

Your close friends are not in Blogit now, and you're a great family member my friend.

Good work on the clean up, I'm very slowly redoing the office into a bedroom.

Tomorrow I run away for a hot lunch date with a lady I have never met before.

She's a teacher though, so that makes her special to me. Imagine Malcolm, me dating at 70. lol,

We tend to procrastinate, don’t we – thinking the task at hand is far too overwhelming and yet when you set your mind to it it’s not so bad. Better yet is the feeling at the end that we’ve truly accomplished something.

Yeah I can relate to that! Sometimes I will put something off for the longest time only to ask myself later...why? Have a great weekend~TGIF

I always postpone task that I hate doing
and almost always find that it's not so bad when I get going.  The hardest part is getting started.

My daughter went back to school yesterday

and my son went back today (stupid days to go back, I think)

and I know what you mean...it is the thinking of doing it - that is harder than actually doing it.

You've started your spring cleaning already?

You hit the nail on the head.  I often procrastinate over the idea of what has to be done.  When I finally get to doing what has to be done the act ends up being quite gratifying.
