Have you tried praying for those people who irritate you
by their trying to convert you! That would be real trick to play on them! Take care and keep writing!

Ever heard of...?
Hey, have you ever heard of the sin-eaters? I think you'd find it very interesting. I'd never heard of them until this neat movie called (drum roll) "The Sineater" came along. Loved the questions it posed. Years later, I found out that Sineaters are historical. They lived on the outskirts of villages and granted absolution (for a price) to those who, for one reason or another, were not able to get absolution from the church. They "ate" the deceased's sins, taken them upon themselves, thus allowing the cleansed soul entry to heaven. Of course, the church forbade this practice, because it was granting absolution outside of God. Very intriguing stuff! I wrote a story about it (sheepish, shameful clearing of the throat) on my blog if you're interested, but you can find it just as easily by googling it! Funny thing is, a lot of funeral traditions come from the practice of sin-eating!
