                    I considered at one time attending either West Point or the Naval Academy,
                
                Parnell.  I thought my mission in life would be as the next Robert E. Lee, perhaps a statesman-soldier that could be respected and loved.  Ah, the dreams of pomp and fame... But I shied away from the physical brutality of the system that must be endured at the onset.  I fear that I was more inclined toward the romantic idea of a successful warrior, Parnell, but realistic enough to understand that it was just that -- romanticism...
