Terrible
Now, that's just awful! And so petty! There was an entire article written about this: smearing someone's name through the mud on the net. I wish I could remember what they called it. It came from a newspaper in California. Darnit! I'll see if I can find it. In any case, it truly attests to the quality of the person who wrote it rather than the subject matter.

Cherylann...
I agree completely, it should be against the law, and probably is, but many men have tried to get their names removed with no success, so I guess the law is not enforcable unless you have the right amount of money?  I don't know.

I don't care if it is the internet; it is against the law

and called slander and liable which means it holds a legal liability if it is directed to a person by name, identifying city of location and place of employment or not. I don't know why anyone would ever think nothing could be done legally.

The latest situation I've seen regarding students posting explicit sexual lies regarding a vice-principal of their school on a My Space is being taken before the supreme court and a 17 year old is being tried as an adult.  It is currently in all the news. Why would this be any different? Although her picture was posted, her home address and I believe even her telephone number, this married mother of three on this (My Space) was set up to look as if she was soliciting for Lesbian lovers.  If convicted, the 17 year old is looking at a felony and 10-year sentence.  How is this any different?

There are a lot of sick, hurting people in this world who feel their lives and self-worth depend upon reciprocated love and if they don't receive it or are rejected, seek out revenge. Hurting people who have no foundation of love are generally known to try and hurt other people.

They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim their words like deadly arrows.

Corbin_Dallas...
You are correct Sir.  Just imagine every woman in your past with the ability and motivation to smear your good name...it's craziness!!

Uggghhh!
That's bad news and I can't believe it's legal......

Holy_Grail...

Exactly right.  The sad truth is that these men are being mentioned by name, place of employment, and city of residence.  I even saw one where the woman saw fit to remark on the mans male endowment, or lack thereof.  I just find it hard to believe it has not been stopped yet.

Thanks for reading.

I wouldn't see a problem if there were not names and pictures posted, but as it is, it poses privacy and defamation - not to mention safety - issues.  If someone wants to vent anonymously about being wronged by "John Doe," fine.  But it sounds like this crosses a line. It's not the same thing as, say, posting personal info about the whereabouts of sex offenders.  Throwing darts at a picture might be a better way to spend one's time.

Talion...
Thanks, and I agree about the double standard.  The thing is, even if they had a site like for guys to vent I don't think it would last long.  I can't think of too many guys who would make use of such a site even if they could, preferring rather to just move on with their life.  The whole concept is diabolical!

A_Norseman

I've heard of this site. It earned media coverage not so long ago because of situations you've described. The fact it's still up and running leads me to believe that not much can be done. The strange thing about it is advertised as providing some sort of redeeming social value, some sort of women's empowerment.

This is a reflection of a larger issue, the double standard that exists between men and women concerning this subject. Had this sight been created for men, it would've been immediately branded misogynistic (and rightly so) and every sort of feminist group would've clamored for it's removal.

Onetimeagain...
Thanks.  These are crazy times we live in.  I don't think there is an equal site for men to post about women.

Wow.. that would be horrid for anyone.
I dont know if anything can be done.. but I sure hope so. That makes me wonder if there is a site like that for men to post about women? How sad that the net is used for such petty evil childish ways. Good Luck!!!
