LOVE-ly story
showing how LOVE breaks down the barriers of culture, ethnicity, politics and society.
What organized religion SHOULD be about is LOVE doing precisely that. Unfortunately, many use organized religion as a way to erect those barriers. In such cases, it does not represent God but culture, ethnicity, politics or society.
In my own case and with the religious communities (congregations) I have joined, there has been, first and foremost, the loving acceptance of people.

A wonderful story
I adore spirituality, I despise organized religion.
Only you can see the face of god, no one can tell you what he/she looks like, what his/her voice sounds like, or what his/her message is for you. Only you can find that.
Organized religion seeks only to separate us from one another through conformity. Cast off the shackles of organized religion and step into the light of god.

This is an excellent post my sister .
We need to reorient our minds to be close to God . God is Love and lve is God .God never differentiates or discriminate amongst his creations otherwise he would never be known as JUST . We as human beings have superimposed our own prejudices on every religious beliefs to polute the basic philosophy of love . God has no place for hatred for any one ,God has no place for prejudice , God had no place for bias , God has no place for injustice in his kingdom.Come let's create a world free of prejudice and bias of any kind let the bigots know that they are going to be utter failures in future.Thanks.

It's a good story. I'm glad you were able to overcome such prejudices. Religion, at times, can be more of a hinderance than a help.

Thanks for sharing about your religious upbringing...
I'm glad you've realized that we must judge each person as an individual and not on any preconcieved notions about them.
