This is a side I did not know. I just would love to see some excitement about something other than athletes getting all the money they do and having all the freedoms to misuse their powers. They get away with whatever! The department should pass along money to the college, it is their facility they are using, name and let's face it without all these acursed names on these bowls because they are funders we would not have this run away thing.... I just heard them say A Home Depot coaching error... What are they doing building bathrooms? Oh they need to get over it! Colleges survived, athletes made decent livings when we had 'Cotton, Sugar and Orange' bowls. What changed all that? Big money, to get big names and to win the attention for the school and 'round and round it goes. Or am I still off base? Thanks for the comment.

Justi.......
The school will probably not be paying any of the coach's salary......I think most athletic programs are set up as separate entities. I know that the University of KY athletic department is totally self-sustaining...and in fact turns about $5,000.000 over to the school each year.
Being a part of the SEC, Kentucky shares in the revenue from all 9 of the SEC teams in bowls this year.....it will amount to over 30-40 million this year. Now this isn't true for all school...only ones lucky to have big programs and aligned with money generating conferences benefit. SEC, ACC, Big 10, and Big 12 are the largest...Big East is growing fast.
But I do agree that's a lot of money.....but the other side of the coin is.....the boosters account for hundreds of millions of dollars going into the institutions.......
