vets are ridiculously expansive, even with their annual memberships,
they are still too much. Unfortunately, our wonderful member, "fourcats" hasn't updated in six days. She knows everything about pets.

If she's not better tomorrow, I'd definitely take her to the regular vet, especially if she's lethargic and not eating. I definitely understand that it is expensive, from much experience unfortunately! You might try checking to see if there is any pain response on that foot - i.e., does she react more to pressure on it? Or is it the opposite problem and there actually some sensory deficit causing her to drag it. Oh, and I gave my old dog aspirin on several occasions at the direction of the vet. (He weighed about 35 pounds more than your pooch though, so he got a pretty high dose!) I hope she feels better.

Anytime I mention "chow" people instantly assume Sully is aggressive. Chow's get a bad rap just as pitbulls and rotties do. People don't get that alot of how a dog behaves is due to how its been raised!

He looks like a big bear, and seems to be well fed. Being good with kids is the most important thing for a dog. We have the Pitt and a Chiuaua mix(sp). What a combination. The Pitt is almost 10 and the Chiuaua is just over a year

Dont worry about the size of the pic

Oh, that kind of vet...
We don't have any dogs, but the last time I took the cat to the vet he said I should try to brush Snowball's teeth! Brush a cat's teeth? I think I'll just go armwrestle the roto-tiller, probably less painful. Good luck with pooch.

Sully's got the chow blue tongue and the full neck. The vet seems to think he may be part Akita, Huskie, or Samoyed. He's very tender with the girls!

I have a ChowMix named Sully (short for Sullivan). He's a good boy. He weighs about 60-70 pounds depending on what time of year it is.

"These chewable, roast beef flavor aspirin tablets help to relieve the pain and inflammation associated with injuries, arthritis, surgery or hip dysplasia. Choose 100 mg tablets for small and medium breed dogs; 325 mg tablets for large and giant breed dogs. "
The aspirin that this pet website sells recommends the dosage stated above. Read your baby aspirin bottle to see what's right. I think it would be fine. But, I'm not a vet.

I don't know about the aspirin for sure. I've only used children's tylenol for my dog. I'll tell you what...I'm gonna search the net real quick and see if I can find you and answer. I'll be back soon!

You might try a heating pad. You can also give a dog a child's dose of tylenol. Poor puppy.
