Thanks! I was afraid of that!
What the doctor had told me was that my lung was congested on the one side. Then of course, it took two more days for me to get meds since he prescribed something that wasn't covered.
I've been sleeping most of the night and day for several days now, except for today, because I haven't been able to breath well enough to relax.

sunny, that sounds like pneumonia... I've had it and remember the sound.
Get some rest!

I haven't had any in a very long time either. I think it was maybe because the original med he wanted to give me was stronger, but my insurance wouldn't cover it.
I'm thinking he maybe thought this is pretty serious. Considering that I have breathing problems to begin with, and now often when I breath in, I get a gurgling sound, and feel like I'm drowning....well, the more meds the better!

2 at the same time? Why not just give a higher dose? That's odd...
I had to take antibiotics last week for the first time in a long time. Sometimes, you do need them to get rid of a sinus infection.

Rumored...Hahaha, thanks!
I guess, it may have something to do with the fact that I have an infection in my lung, and a sinus infection. Well, the pharmacist asked me if I was being treated for two different infections. Since my insurance wouldn't cover the original prescription, I guess maybe that is why.

Sunny, I love your title..lol...once or twice for severe repiratory
infections I've had 2 prescriptions, but I dont think they were ever both antibiotics..as others have already said below, some docs overuse them until they (the anti's, not the docs) become useless..

Those prices are nuts! The first one that my insurance wouldn't cover, was $112.00!
The other two that were covered would have cost about $50 each

Sunny...
Those antibiotics are outrageously priced anymore. I had a prescription for seven that cost me 75 dollars after insurance paid their part! I can get a bottle of pain killers 35 quantity for 10 bucks. I say, give me the pain killers til the cold is over and I'll be happy!

Thanks Ariala
I don't get sick often, as I don't much believe in it. What I have right now, is congestion in my one lung, and the start of a sinus infection.
I don't cater to much to doctors either...which is why it took me three weeks to go, and numerous attempts with over the counter meds.

I agree with afzal, I stay away from doctors...most illnesses are viruses
and antibiotics really don't kill viruses...I do try to minimize the symptoms with over the counter medication, but only time, rest, water, and fasting/or eating (depending on whether it's a fever or a cold, LOL) help. Hope you feel better soon

Afzal
So is that the real reason you've been avoiding going to the doctor tonight, my love?

Sincerely speaking , I usually avoid Doctors unless I am compelled to .
Doctors have the habit of testing meds on patients as they get paid for experiments by big pharmecitical companies in consumarist societies . Nice post .
