I think you should bump the Hula Hoop and stick to the pilates tape. Hula Hoop is simply toooooo much work. LOL

Sym
I try to do simple things to keep in shape because I am lazy and hate exercise...I park far away...try to walk if i can...i will purposely take trips even if i know i can carry everything inside with one, i leave some food on my plate, i don't eat really late at night, i do squats in the shower, and i laugh a lot...you should see how tight my stomach is from just laughing....it's probably the best exercise/medicine

good luck to you...xoxo

DivineDiva, that's a great idea, but being Irish, my appetite for self
destruction is far greater than my appetite for self improvement.
I am having an Irish coffee with cream at the moment & loving it.

A New Year's Blogit Weight Loss support group
I'm with you Symph, the last few months have played havoc with my diet. What if we held a Blogit support group so we could whinge and moan about dieting and support each other in our quest to lose weight? The winner gets a prize?

Beginners should use the smallest hoop diameter since that is easiest to control. The skipping rope is one of the most effective exercise gadget. Skip with your favorite music/tv program etc. After every mouthful of food, take a mouthful of water.

Symph...
even if you extend your arms and use the hula on them...great arm exercises by the way...you're getting some use from it. Good luck! I think you're a beauty anyways.

Symphony-
I just left your a message on Pat'sB. comment page but I'm with you on the dang hoola hoop. I could hoola forever when I was a kid but I'm lucky to get a dozen revolutions these days. Try standing with one foot slightly in front of the other, spread apart, knees bent and jus make small back and forth movements with you hips. I saw other women use his technique and go for as long as they wanted. Good luck!

SYMPHONY, a good brisk walk on a regular basis helps..the pounds don't
fall off too quickly, but they do in time, and what's left is firmed up (both my wife and I can vouch for this)..

Why not just dance in the kitchen - or wherever you can play your tunes
Have a bit of fun for half an hour (or until you need a rest) shakin' it to your favorite rocker... Don't think of it as exercise or good for you or anything. It's just be-bopping booty-shaking fun. My personal favorite for this is the Eagles "Hell Freezes Over" album. If you burn off a few calories or add a little slack in your slacks, so much the better. :)

Hula Hoops are OK; put jump ropes are much better!
Also, a small trampoline (some are only 3 feet in diameter) is a great low impact workout!

I used to love to hula hoop. It's been so long I don't know if I can still do it...Don't be so hard on yourself...enjoy life and eat well. You darn sure don't look like you have any fat to worry about. You're a very beautiful woman inside and out. Now good luck with those resolutions...Happy New Year...drink one for me and I will drink one for you!

Ha! Ha!
Do not feel alone. A hoola hoop always ends up around my ankles without even on revolution.
