Yes, well here is what I was thinking about the cat food ~
We were watching "Shark Tails," and one of the DVD extras is a food chain game. Dad was sitting on the sofa explaining to the girls that fish eat fish. In fact, most everything in the ocean is chasing and devouring some other creature near it all the time. So I thought, "Cannibals!" Do I want my pet receiving the constant influence of cannibals in his diet? And as for poultry ... I have a bird feeder. It doesn't seem right for me to make birds a sort of pet on the one hand and feed birds to my cat on the other hand. It's just disturbing to think about ... every time I feed the cat. It must be this talk of war that has my mind moving in such circles.
I went out yesterday and bought all individual Special Kitty beef dinners and beef for us too. I think he'll enjoy the fact that we don't refrigerate the leftovers, and beef are vegetarians ~ they are not a hunting part of the food chain.
