No new news here, Vivienne. My favorite case for overwhelming evidence
for conviction and money that paid for freedom is the OJ Simpson murder trial.  It has gotten to the point where the term "miscarriage of justice" is not only cliche but misleading.  It's all money, power, and politics...

This country...

This country has become a system of justice where justice no longer has anything to do with right and wrong.  Justice is bought and paid for by how much money one has and how good their lawyer is.  The poor, and the working class poor, can't afford the many thousands of dollars it costs to high a big gun attorney.  I worked in the legal field for many years and saw things that made my blood run cold.  I've seen innocent people go to prison because they couldn't afford legal help.  I've seen guilty people go scott free because they could.  I've seen Judges, and Prosecuting Attorney's and Defense Attorney's make agreements that set me to yelling and throwing files - it was just that wrong.

People who actually go to jury duty are people who are so neo-conservative that they usually vote guilty.  Their basis of reason being that if the prosecutor thought the defendant was guilty enough to bring charges against then they must be guilty.  I've seen juries ignore all evidence and send the defendant to prison anyway, they condemned the person for their thoughts - not on the evidence because there was absolutely no evidence whatsoever.

I've also seen Prosecutors go after people just to get a promotion, they needed to clean off their books in order to move ahead.  Everyone believes that we live in a country where everyone is innocent until proven guilty - not so.  Most prosecutors and judges have a very twisted attitude on anyone brought before them, most people have to prove their innocence.

This all, my friend, is our tax dollars at work.
