As with most things, SlyCy, it all devolves to chasing the dollar.
Ridiculous, considering the amount of money they'd be getting in heightened premiums.

Insurance drives the anti gay marriage issue. Insurance companies don't
want to pay for one of the marriage partners death to the survivor.  Simplistic but probably true.

I'm on your side, Presley. I have absolutely nothing against gay marriage
or same-sex unions.  I beleive it a shame that there is so much fear among the moralists and the Christians and the homophobes (and combinations thereof).  I have never met a gay person I didn't like, and the thought that they cannot enjoy the same benefits of our society simply because of their lifestyle galls me no end...

You're right, kingmi. Small-mindedness and jingoistic b.s. is only hurting
the country, not helping, not unifying, not rectifying.  Sadly, the immigration issue, which is important, is being overshadowed by the relative nonissue of same sex unions, sold as a threat to family values but really a political distraction playing on prejudice.

Saul Relative

This topic strikes a chord in me, one of those chords that sounds like nails on a chalkboard.  I support gay marriage!  I just do, dang it!  Alot of the anti gay marriage supporters have stated:  it's against the Bible, it sets a bad example for our youth, it acknowledges approval of same sex relations.  We don't want to teach this as being acceptable in our society.  Gay individuals who bear children or adopt will confuse the child in regard to his/her own sexuality.  BULLSHIT!

For goodness sake, the legislation needs to be passed and approved.  Saul, my frustration is not directed at you, the writer!  You're a good man!  My frustration is directed at the elephants and the jackasses trying to play God where issues such as these are concerned.

Saul, unfortunately playing politics is their job now.
And large groups of minorities are suffering. 14 million latinos, even more gays. Geesh!
