writeroflight I just wanted

to add this we all know when Betty Ford, as First Lady underwent a masectomy in 1974 and also in 1987 Nancy Reagan underwent a masectomy.

I think it educated women each time and I think Laura Bush could have done the same thing to tell people to have themselves checked.

skin cancer
I think she should have disclosed to educate.  Many people do not understand skin cancer.  I know of someone who is going in to the doctor to have a mole checked and she did look at photos of what Laura's cancer would look like.

Well if people don't know about skin cancer by now
They never will...I think she has the right to privacy and exercised that right. There will always be the loonies who say she should have said something, but for the most part, they don't like her anyway...so her critics are just going to use this as a way of making an issue out of Laura's personal decision.
