It's kind of sad cause it is the truth. I remember hearing my 1st grade teacher to tell me to study this so and so at night. Homework...The concept of studying meant nothing to me. Kind of like reciting the pleadge of allegence. They never taught me what is was I was pledging to... Anyway I have this feeling that dwelling in the past is not in order right now. Gosh, is that a shift in attitude I'm feeling? Maybe it's my new medicine...

Hi PasssH
I love this way of thinking.... I'm sorta disappointed with the quality of education I received. But then again I was really distracted as a kid...That is one area in my life that I wouldn't mind doing over! But then again maybe not...

fourcats...Glad to inspire a post in you. For me school, after kindergarten
was very uninspiring. I want my money back! My schooling was a complete atrocity. Everyone played the I'm better than you game. I swear I was born with the idea that we are here to help each other, love each other, support one another. School taught me that there are many selfish, superficial people in the world.

overall, i enjoyed school but i can't decide which event, or lack thereof,
cheesed me more. the fact that they didn't teach me things like comparitive shopping and how to do banking, or how to apply for a job (every kid should have to get a job as part of the school curriculum) or that they did teach me things that ended up not being true.
history books have been written and rewritten to say what the author/publisher/government pressure wants it to say, simple things like; it wasn't edison who was the first to invent the telephone, it was actually a guy from germany, but edison gets all the credit 'cause of his further developments with it.
of course, when i was hitting my impressionable teens, nixon was being impeached and the whole affair left such a bad taste in my mouth, that was the day america died for me. hm, i feel a post coming on.

when it came to the subject of school, my sister said -
"you don't actually have to learn the information - you just have to learn what your teacher wants to hear."
that piece of knowledge has been very useful to me, i've applied it to many situations.
