My brothers and sister all get together on around Christmas. We are getting together tonight. If it takes Christmas to do that, I'm all for it.

True - some throw a party but there are many others who enjoy a quiet party - a peaceful celebration of the Christian meaning of Christmas. Some, as you said, "party" because it has evolved into a tradition while others rejoice and use the time to count their blessings. Blessings to you...

You know, I've just been thinking of some of my reactions - and in my more vulnerable moments, I have very strong emotional reactions to losing my place in the cozy club of the saved. I've even written about it. People are free to go to my member profile and look at what I've written. In my saner moments, what I said is perfectly true (even though it is a perfect excuse to get together with friends and family and throw a party). It's a difficult and painful process of growth for me, but well worth it in the end.
