Yes, Marie Antoinette was a sort of proto-Diana ; a tragic child-woman. Come to think of it, she could also be a model for Marylin Monroe too.
Nice post. Thanks.

Having a good time in Arizona, huh? I spent some time in Southern Arizona
and enjoyed every day. As far as Marie A. is concerned I feel she was a lady that happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Unfortunatley for her, she was a member of the aristocraticy and the late ruling class. The histories of some people are often laced with falsehoods due to the citizenry wishing to inflame passions for a cause. Later, some writers take this as fact and put it in print. Well, it was good expressing my views with you.
Peace

I think her problem wasn't the time period as much as her gender. Even in today's society, a powerful woman is often misunderstood and/or villainized.
