TO UNDERSTAND AND EXPLAIN AND HELP OTHERS. YOU ARE RESPECTFUL.......
YOU KNOW WHERE I CAME FROM, WE HAVE CASTE SYSTEM, RELIGION AND CLASS, EVERYBODY THINK IT'S ALL GONE BY NEW AGE, BUT SO SAD THAT THEY STILL HAVE IT, RECENTLY I SAID SOME TO MY SISTER ABOUT A PROPOSAL FOR MY NIECE(BECAUSE IN OUR CULTURE IT'S ARRANGE MARRIAGE, NOT ABOUT ME, BUT MY CULTURE), I SUGGESTED A GROOM WHO IS QUALIFIED AND ABLE TO PROVIDE A GOOD LIFE BUT MY SISTER AND BROTHER IN LAW TURNED IT IN A SECOND BECAUSE HE WASN'T OUR CASTE.......PEOPLE STILL LIVE IN A NARROW ROAD, THEY CAN'T THINK ANY BETTER THAN OTHERS.......I AM SAO GLAD TO SEE A VERY GOOD POEM AND COMMENTS....

A LAMENT.......
No one enjoys peace more than a soldier. Unfortunately, some people will only change their minds down the barrel of a gun, if even then. I foresee/observe, for the conflicts are already here four board areas of conflict. Environmental or resource conflict. Global warming is a fact and the equatorial regions are going to be hit very hard, where will these people go, who will help them.
Religious conflict. Not wishing to offend anyone, read the headlines, and judge for yourselves.
Class conflict. For the first time in history of society, the upper class has no need for the vast majority of the lower classes. Even Pharaoh could not kill the slaves, for without he would starve and nothing would be built, not so today. I do not think the poor will go away quietly. As the grandson of coal miner and a sharecropper, I think the salt of the Earth still has a thing or too to say.
New Race conflict. This concerns genetically modified or "enhanced" human beings, or Homo Sapiens Superious. This is not science fiction, it is here now. Keeping simple, what do you do with a group of people who are 10% better at everything than the best of everyone else?
Then there is a fifth area of conflict dealing with future human colonies and perhaps other civilizations amongst the stars. I shall not have to worry about this, but my grandchildren will probably have to.
Thank you one and all for your kind comments. I had a victory parade of sorts in 1993 when I marched with the 87th Div (ex) in the Birmingham Veterans Day Parade. It was the first and last time I was ever applauded as an American fighting man by members of the general public. Please note, while I have numerous decorations, I have never been decorated for individual heroism, as I have never really done anything particularly heroic.
