scary thought in itself.
I agree that no real friend would ever say such things to a person. You have probably witnessed some of the nonsense written in my comments by some folks, or in other posts that I have "inspired". Some of these people have even claimed that they were extending a hand of friendship . . . by telling me I'm a loser? It's little wonder they have no friends.

Like you, I didn't realize my life was so screwed up until I was told. Nevermind the countless joys I experience daily and the overall positive outlook I hold. Somehow I'm drowning in a sea of misery simply because I don't embrace the belief in some higher power. When I hear things like that, I wonder about the true motivations of the speaker. Is he/she trying to throw me a life perserver or a stone? Is he/she offering a hand or trying to hold me under? Still, it doesn't bother me. There are only a handful of people whose opinion of me truly matters. Not one of them would ever say something like that to me.
