Hi sweet lady. My brother-in-law does that. It just gets him so badly, but he can't help doing it. Love and Best wishes to you and yours for a very MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Many people, when they feel nervous or out of their comfort zone, react with nervous laughter. I haven't done it in years but I remember some very serious somber moments when I was younger when I would suddenly find myself laughing and all eyes would be on me as if I were the most insensitive person on the earth.

I sort of have the opposite problem. It's very hard for me to give out
a convincing laugh when I hear a not very funny joke. Sometimes, I'd blatantly say, "Haha. That's not very funny." And then people would start laughing, maybe because they thought the same.

Oh yes! I will always be prone to laughing at inappropriate times. It just bursts out. A few times I've tried to pretend that I was sneezing or something but that doesn't fool anyone. I've gotten lots of frowns in my lifetime and worse. When I was a kid in church, my Dad used to always sit me in the pew right in front of him so that he could thump me on the head when necessary.

Oh yes the preverbal unexpected laughs when you supposed to be serious..I have done it all my life even in the worst of times and on many occasions I have felt so bad about it...I hate it when it happens and I have no clue as to what causes it...

Hi there
The occasion i laughed the most in my life was a very inappropriate moment, back at school aged about 12 or 13. Our music teacher had got us to do a musical version of Jonah and the whale. We rehearsed it for a few weeks. Then the big day came and we performed it in front of a load of children and teachers. But for some reason none of us sang when the moment arrived, and the music teacher was just playing the piano by herself. Me and a friend were just lying on the stage facing away from the audience, laughing our heads off! A strange sight it all must have made for the audience. I think we had to start again at the beginning, and we eventually completed the show, but I always found that situation hilarious!

SYMPHONY, your church experience reminded me of a dear old lady
who has since gone on to heaven, but while still here, she was always a very LOUD singer, and never on.

.she was always flat.

..her voice reminded me of the noise you get when you step on a cat's tail..well, I had to more than once bury my face in the hymn book to stifle a laugh.

For some reason, I get tickled on crowded elevators.
I don't even know what's funny about it. I guess just knowing you're supposed to be quiet in them.

LOL, when I was still a Catholic and went to confession (at 14), my
girlfriend and I started laughing hysterically and couldn't stop. I don't know why we were laughing, but it was so quiet in that church and we totally lost it...the priest wasn't very happy with us. Hence, we had more to confess that day.

Laughing is what ticks off Judge Judy 90% of the time. She hates it. :)

Symphony, I was the same way. Nothing was serious. I, too, got into trouble with it. I'll never know why the teacher never threw me out of choir in school. Like you, I was always laughing. Got scolded a few times, but she never threw me out. Same in my yoga class as an adult. I couldn't meditate. I got the giggles. You are not the only one. hahahahahahah

Go to you tube and type in Erik Hartman boemerang. Click on the one with English subtitles. You will see the most inappropriate laughing ever. Some viewers say it is a fake but I've researched and cannot find evidence that it is anything but real

When I was younger and got into trouble I'd laugh and give it all away, too.

Symphony, when Max and I lived in Indonesia, we discovered that often when
an Indonesian made a mistake, he would laugh rather than admit he was wrong. A friend's gardener was asked to trim the hedges to make them shorter...so he cut the hedge off at the root and again under the leafy top. He then set the leafy top on the top of the stump! The hedge was much shorter. When asked what had happened, the gardener sensed his
employer was not happy and he starte dlaughing uncontrolably!

Nervous laughter is extremely common...
I continuously laugh when I shouldn't because I have a tendency to twist things until I crack myself up. Funerals, getting yelled at by the boss, interviewing someone... you name it, I've laughed when I shouldn't. Just be happy to be normal for a change lol.
