luckily there was no damage but because the garage door had been damaged before it messed it up worse and they are blaming me and expect me to pay for the door.

Well there is more to the story, when we moved in the automatic garage was messed up because his wife had an accident with it, they told us about it right a way, but one day I didn't get my car clear in and it came down on my car breaking the top of the garage door and the owner fixed it but not that good and it collapsed about 2 weeks before we moved so now he wants me to replace the garage door. So I am going to write a letter to them to tell them I will take them to court if they try to blame me for the door.

I had a similar experience some 30 years back when I had
three small kids and no income .I had to shift because my old house was being demolished .

I think it's almost standard anymore for landlords to take something out..When I moved my landlord took out for landscaping..go figure that one..they never landscaped when I lived there..So anyhow it made it look nice for the new tennents who moved in only to move back out 3 months later and leave them with a big old mess. When I left I had the cleaning lady go over and clean so the place was indeed spotless..Glad you're settled and hopefully your high speed will be on line soon...
