Sir Michael!!!
Your poor mum!   Such stories you tell!!  Just kidding.  I would probably love it -- the best thing my son did was his reaction to some of my youthful pictures.  I had them out one day and my husband left them on the table. Our son, about 20 at the time, asked, "Who's the babe?" Hubby says, "Those are your mother!"  Response - "No way... (then he looks at me, then the pics, then me and says:). . . way to go, Mom!"
LadyCee (hope Santa doesn't leave you a lump of coal from your mum!)

Hi TAPS !
So appreciate your visits friend. My mother wouldn't really give me a fat-lip. More of a stare that would have me begging for mercy, then a stern talking too. Though deep down she knows its all true even though not in these precise words, thanks again TAPS.  Mike

Yes Tony you have it friend, you have great insight. I believe an honest period of rebelion teaches more then the leather strap or cricket stump of my day ever did. ( I asked for alone of the price of my fare back from Israel, after leaving the Kibitz and finding work in a bar, which was dangerous in task, I was told you got yourself their! You get yourself back again.) Shock reality of no safety net. Mike, To the market

Love the poem, lionladroar.  Makes me wonder what my sons might write about me some day.  They probably wouldn't dare show it to me either.  LOL   Well, I've had the pleasure of reading three of your posts just now because I got behind the last few days.

Hi Mike. It's a great idea to have a rebel mum. Why not?

As kids we rarely see that side of our parents. That's as it should be, because they have to teach us standards of behaviour simply to get us to do what they say and to get on in life. But behind that holier than thou mother or father is a naughty rule-breaker when they were young and had no responsibilities and just wanted to explore all that they could, even though they were usually told no all the time by society. Always the same.

Liked this, and yestrerday's which i missed at the time, due to being only approximately semi-conscious!

She still is Troosha, spends most of her time now on her barge moored on the canal at the Isle of Ely on the Fens Cambridgeshire, birth place of that other rebel whom had a king of England's head chopped off. Oliver Cromwell. They would have got on like a house on fire! For a little while.Thank you again Mike ps the poem might not be fictional. . .

Lion
VERY cool (and equally wonderful picture).  I was a little disappointed when I read it was fictional as I had conjured up an image of your rebel Mom - wild, fearless, and a chance taker.  Perhaps she is all those things though.....
