Corbin
How much damage have you caused with that chemistry set.  NO WAY will Carl ever be allowed to have one!

Thank you so very much for understanding.  I know you started out as the prime target and then it bled into other areas.  What I witnessed around here was a bit too familiar to a time in my own past with a family member.  Watching someone crash and burn and knowing you are helpless to stop it but feeling that you should be able to stop it....let's just say it brought some some of my own past demons.

Ms
what a lovely story!!  Sometimes at 10 we don't appreciate what will be in the years to come.

My favorite Christmas memory is of my son's first Christmas.  He was 7 months old and a TOTAL hoot!

My favorite Christmas memory was the last year........I got a toy!
it was a chemistry set...but nothing simple.......ahead of me was the yearly sea of clothes.....I was no longer a child like my younger friends.....but that was OK.....I could slip out and play with there when the urge hit me.....

Bel, I agree....we have been through so much.......it's time to let it go and move on.  There's a lot of dead horse kicking going on now.  As you said it time for Christmas!

My favorite Christmas was actually one that at the time I wasn't happy about. lol My parents and I were living in Brazil and in an effort to celebrate in a traditional way they set out to buy a live tree, only to find that none of the traditional trees were to be found. So, instead, they bought this really leafy little tree that looked nothing like a Christmas tree and sprouted pink flowers (remember Christmas there falls in the middle of the summer). So we had to decorate this little potted tree, which of course at 10 I pouted about, but now those are some of my favorite pictures ever. We planted the tree later and just last summer I visited the people who now live in my house and the tree is so beautiful and now makes a beautiful memory as well as a story. :)

My favorite Christmas memory, huh? Ummm...
When I went to Florida to see my granparents for the first time.  I remember my grandfather waiting outside in the pouring rain for us.  I miss him.  Oh and when I was four..getting my first pair of cowboy boots!  I was such a tomboy!  LOL

Last year was pretty good.  I don't really have anything to do for Christmas so was invited to a friend's house.  Her name is Holly and her birthday is Dec. 25.  I tried to find a holly plant but all the florists were out of them so I gave her another kind of plant.  I'm still looking for that holly.

It's true Timmy
I know you have all been through a great deal but you have never wavered in your love for them.  There is no greater gift.

I am so very sorry for the loss of your best friend.

It was 5 days before Christmas actually, but it counts!  I adopted my old dog Montana who I had for 7 years. He was the best gift I ever got, for Christmas or otherwise. This will be my first Christmas without him since that happy time.

I don't remember a good Christmas memory. I loved yours about marrying and his homecoming and having a family. That is such a joy. Yes I have a wonderful husband and I know what it means to just have better and better days with him but Christmas is not so good for many people.

Joe
I'm looking forward to that post.  And nothing comes close to Carl coming home.  The day I married him was wonderful and I never imagined there would be a happier day, but the day he came home did outshine even marrying him.

Wifey. . , I can't tell you about my favorite
Christmas memory (I plan to blog about it).  But, I can tell you it doesn't hold a candle up to Carl coming home.
