It's amazing what we hear when we pull those big 'ol earplugs out, huh?

avant-garde...
Excellent post.  A gentle, loving spirit toward self and others leads to a happier life!

Wow, powerful post, avant! Having grown up with four brothers and parents
that pushed us to excel caused me to be an overachiever and quite competitive.  I didn't rebel against those so much, but I did and do rebel against Corporate America and the greed of commercialism all around me...I like how you gave yourself permission to spend the money and to give yourself release.  Beautiful!

Hi, avant-garde,
Thanks for this.  It is a timely reminder to all of us of how we go through our lives, not realizing or acknowleging the truly important things in our lives.  Too often, I find myself in the same situations and ruts.  Christmas season is a nice reprieve from that.  The shame is that I can't seem to maintain the Christmas spirit year round.  As usual, I enjoyed this read.  :)

"And, the truth will make you free!" You touched my heart
with your post today, Avant! It is a shock sometimes to realize, "I am what I hate", as Paul said. Opening self to the Lord brings self revelation and from self-revelation we can change as to become who we truly desire to be. Thank you for sharing your moment of revelation and faith! Bless you as you continue to grow in Spirit and Love! faholo

I'll get back to you with Emerson's quote on defining true success.
It is not as the majority of the world define it, it's a hard path to walk alone at times.

"Projection of one's self-rejection". WoW

Avant-Garde, the first step to change is always awareness. Self-awareness

and humility in being willing to examine one's conscience and sort out what is one's own stuff and what is another's and only own that which is one's own and no more.

That is the journey of a lifetime

One has to from time to time
slow down and appreciate what you have

"Projection of one's self-rejection". If one could come to realize this one simple fact, then the world would be so much a better place to live. Very true!
