Sunnybeach7 - I'm glad you appreciated that quip . . . but it is true
That's how some of them act. When they get that way, I like to get a few clicks as a reward for having endured them. Envision the cartoon of the grossly overweight bandito on the puniest of mules, I like to beat just a little more click mileage out of them. Yeehaw leetle bible thumperos.

"Rabid and out of control" ...Hahahahaha....how funny!

But also, how true! I've had the pleasure of this experience a time or two!

Corbin_Dallas - that's it really, we all pay a membership fee to do with as
we please.
Outside of each of us being responsible for our words, only the site user agreement determines what an individual can and cannot do with their blogging membership. There are no rules within the SUA that state any member must invite dialogue or keep their blog comments open to everyone.

I also view being blocked as a right that the blocking blogger has to define their own blogging experience. Exactly, it is a last resort....but in the extreme cases the only way to regain control of your blog....something you're paying for.....

jollyjeff - I think it is fair to say that blogging about religion or
politics can be more volatile than other topics.
The actions of some folks, when they feel that they are defending what they believe, can sometimes be downright scary.

David1Spirit - that is probably true - there are some folks that we will
never see eye to eye with no matter what concessions we make to them.
I also view being blocked as a right that the blocking blogger has to define their own blogging experience. It hardly ever bothers me to any degree but sometimes makes me wonder about some people and what they want out of life.

Golly I'm missing all this
I've never blocked anyone and as far as I know, no one has ever blocked me. Maybe my posts aren't provacative enough.

That is indeed very strange
It is my firm belief that if someone blocks another person for doing nothing; maybe it's nature's way of saying that person was someone who you would probably want to avoid anyways.
Because that doesn't sound like the actions of a rational person; or one you would want to get to know better.

David1Spirit - as far as deserving to be blocked - it isn't always obvious
Where I think that most people cannot say they never do things that might warrant blocking, I can say that I have never been blocked due to my actions. Not once have I gotten into a feud with someone and had them block me. I have only been blocked because some people don't like my opinions. Where saying this may sound as if I one of those people not getting the message or taking responsibility for my own actions that is hardly the case. Twice I have had a situation where I went to comment on a post for the very first time to find myself blocked. I didn't even have a chance to wear out my welcome.

Well, why don't you kiss mine instead!
LOL, if your headline didn't make people think there was a feud on somewhere, then that comment clinched the deal!
I haven't blocked anyone yet, maybe never will. But I have been blocked a couple of times. In retrospect I can't say I didn't deserve it. I know there were times that I crossed that line; even if I allowed myself to be goaded into it.
When we get into these "disagreements, we know full well in advance what we are getting into, and the possible reprecussions of doing so.
At the end of the day we have noone else to blame but ourselves. Blaming others is never going to convince a person that he or she should take responsibility. Unfortunatly in our society it rarely happens. We are a society of "victims"; and we like to point fingers because it's much easier than looking in a mirror.
That's not exactly progress.
