Gome, that's how I feel too.
If you want your kids to be stupid, I'm okay with that but don't try to destroy the science department for my kid.

SuccessWarrior - that is ultimately my singular beef with these folks
They have every right to keep themselves as ignorant as they desire but as soon as they insist that the rest of us dumb it down I have a problem with them.

Insulation comes with a price, that's for sure.
When you attempt to block out knowledge, you block at the good as well as the controversial.

What others said
I agree myself that it's harder to insulate people from the facts. In fact, what little research I have done on holistic health and New Age medical alternatives indicates to me that those who isolate themselves from what they regard as a heretical secular society for religious reasons - like certain separatist Christians and Jews - are the ones most vulnerable to the New Age quacksters. They have denied themselves access to the truth, and they have chosen not to know any better, to their detriment.

Passion, several people have mentioned the symbology and

I have passed it on here.  The Son of God is actually the Sun of God.

I heard that the flood was local and that the ark went south but now I can't remember what the best guess for where it landed was.

I don' believe in blindly following any one or any thing...

Not even the bible. I question everything and I think God appreciates that. I've never heard anyone say that the stories about Jesus were some kind of "Symbology".

What religious background are you from? {ps-I believe the Ark will soon be found on Mt. ARarat in Turkey exactly where the bible says it rested after the flood}

TV, that's true. The numbers are getting too large
And it's getting harder to insulate people from the information

Oh, I think people have always questioned it's validity
but the church just labeled them as heretics and dismissed them as a fringe element.  I think now that information is more readily available to the masses, it's harder to keep up the illusion.
